Researchers have observed a unique in Japan wherein female monkeys have constantly engaged in mating behaviors with deer’s known as the Sika deer. The reason is not yet as to why they are displaying such an unique and unnatural behavior says researchers who study Macaque behavior.
It is only female monkeys interacting with male deer, however study shows that male macaque are found to be mounting female Sika deer on Yakushima Island.
“Even the mating nature of this interaction was not clearly demonstrated,” said Noëlle Gunst, – researcher at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada.
Researchers and studies have found that there are different kinds of mating behavior among adolescent monkey and deer in Minoo, Japan.Female monkeys are found mounting on male deer’s back and rubbing their genitals against the deer’s back. (video.)
These monkeys are found to show aggressive and violent behavior if the deer does not allow them to do so.Monkeys are found showing tantrums like crouching on the ground, body spasms and screaming, while gazing at the deer etc.
The researchers studied and compared the mating interaction of monkey to monkey and monkey to deer, the they have can to conclusion that this interaction and mounting on each other is in a complete mating way.
Researchers and Scientist have come up with multiple theories. And yet there is no complete theory of as to way these monkey’s and deer’s are behaving in this unique way.
Maybe this is all just the process of evolution as Charles Darwin rightly said ” Survival of the fittest.”
